Welcome to MarineMecTech. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By accessing our website at marinemectech.org, enrolling in our courses, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
MarineMecTech ("we," "us," or "our") is a professional maritime engineering training centre located at Studio 53 Christopher Plaza West Alex, PO11 0JY, United Kingdom. Registration Number: 05117977.

2. Definitions

3. Course Enrollment and Registration
3.1 Eligibility
To enroll in our courses, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
- Meet any specific prerequisites or requirements stated for the particular course
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
3.2 Registration Process
Course enrollment is completed through our online enrollment system or by contacting our admissions team. Enrollment is subject to availability and acceptance by MarineMecTech. We reserve the right to refuse enrollment at our discretion.
3.3 Course Confirmation
Upon receiving your enrollment application, we will review the information and contact you within 24 hours to confirm acceptance, arrange payment, and provide course details. Enrollment is not finalized until you receive written confirmation from MarineMecTech.
4. Fees and Payment
4.1 Course Fees
All course fees are stated in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT at the applicable rate. Current course fees are displayed on our website and are subject to change. The fee applicable at the time of enrollment will be honored.
4.2 Payment Terms
Full payment is required prior to course commencement unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed in writing. We accept payment by:
- Bank transfer
- Credit or debit card (processed through secure third-party payment processors)
- Other methods as agreed in writing
4.3 Late Payment
If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your enrollment and offer your place to another participant. Late payment may incur additional administrative fees.
4.4 Payment Processing
Payment processing is handled by secure third-party payment processors. We do not store complete credit card information on our servers. Please review the terms and privacy policies of our payment processors.
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
5.1 Cancellation by Student
If you need to cancel your enrollment, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. Cancellation terms are detailed in our separate Refund Policy. Please review the Refund Policy carefully before enrolling.
5.2 Cancellation by MarineMecTech
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule courses due to insufficient enrollment, instructor availability, facility issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will:
- Notify you as soon as reasonably possible
- Offer an alternative course date if available
- Provide a full refund if no suitable alternative is available or acceptable to you
Our liability for cancellation is limited to refunding fees paid. We are not responsible for any consequential losses, travel expenses, or other costs incurred.
5.3 Course Rescheduling
We may need to make changes to course dates, times, instructors, or locations. We will notify participants of material changes as soon as reasonably possible. Minor changes do not entitle participants to refunds.
6. Course Delivery and Attendance
6.1 Course Schedule
Course schedules, including start times, break periods, and finish times, will be provided before course commencement. Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions punctually.
6.2 Attendance Requirements
Full attendance is required to receive course certification. Participants who miss significant portions of a course may be denied certification or asked to retake missed sections at additional cost.
6.3 Conduct and Behavior
Participants must:
- Conduct themselves professionally and respectfully
- Follow all safety instructions and regulations
- Not disrupt or interfere with the learning experience of others
- Comply with all facility rules and regulations
- Not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs
We reserve the right to remove participants who violate conduct standards without refund.
6.4 Health and Safety
Participants must disclose any medical conditions, disabilities, or special requirements that may affect their ability to participate safely. We will make reasonable accommodations where possible. Participants are responsible for their own health and safety and must follow all provided safety instructions.
7. Course Materials and Intellectual Property
7.1 Ownership
All course materials, including but not limited to manuals, presentations, videos, documents, and other content, are the intellectual property of MarineMecTech or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
7.2 Permitted Use
Course materials are provided for your personal educational use only. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute materials without written permission
- Share materials with non-participants
- Use materials for commercial purposes
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
- Remove copyright notices or proprietary markings
7.3 Equipment and Facilities
Training equipment and facilities remain the property of MarineMecTech. Participants must use equipment responsibly and report any damage immediately. You may be liable for costs of repair or replacement for damage caused by negligence or misuse.
8. Certification and Qualifications
8.1 Certification Requirements
To receive course certification, participants must:
- Complete all required attendance
- Successfully complete any assessments or practical evaluations
- Demonstrate required competency levels
- Meet all course-specific requirements
8.2 Certification Validity
Certifications are issued based on completion of training and demonstration of competency at the time of course completion. Maintaining professional competency is the responsibility of the certificate holder. Some certifications may have validity periods or require periodic renewal.
8.3 Recognition
While our courses meet UK maritime industry standards and are recognized within the industry, acceptance by specific employers, regulatory bodies, or organizations may vary. Participants are responsible for verifying that our certifications meet their specific needs.
9. Liability and Indemnification
9.1 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MarineMecTech's liability for any claim arising from or related to our services is limited to the amount of fees paid for the specific course in question. We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Loss of data or information
- Personal injury except where caused by our negligence
- Property damage except where caused by our negligence
9.2 Insurance
We maintain appropriate insurance coverage for our operations. Participants are responsible for their own personal insurance, including travel insurance, health insurance, and personal liability insurance.
9.3 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MarineMecTech, our instructors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misconduct during courses.

You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

13. Photography and Recording
We may photograph or video record training sessions for quality assurance, marketing, or educational purposes. By enrolling, you consent to such recording and the use of your image in our promotional materials. If you object, please notify us in writing before course commencement.
Participants may not record (audio or video) training sessions without prior written permission from MarineMecTech.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, severe weather, or environmental conditions
- War, terrorism, civil unrest, or government actions
- Labor disputes, strikes, or lockouts
- Pandemics or public health emergencies
- Failure of utilities, communications, or transportation systems
- Equipment failure or facility unavailability
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MarineMecTech regarding your use of our services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
